About Plymouth House Nursery School

Plymouth House Nursery School first opened its doors to children in 1959 as one of the first preschools in Framingham. We started off as a small program offered to Plymouth Church parishioners, then in 1961 began welcoming children from all of Framingham and surrounding towns. We are currently a well-established early childhood program that continues to serve the greater community. We are licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and we pride ourselves in our reputation and commitment to young children.

Our building houses four large, bright classrooms, each with a co-teaching team of two certified teachers. We have a large space for indoor gross motor activities. Our playground is fenced-in and allows plenty of room to explore nature and play.

Our primary focus is to establish a fun, engaging and positive environment for your child, making their first learning experience enjoyable. We strive to develop your child’s social and communication skills and build the foundation for strong literacy skills. We want each child to leave Plymouth House with a strong sense of confidence and excitement for their next opportunity.

Our Team

Jenn Gunnell, Director of Plymouth House Nursery School
Miss Jenn joined PHNS as Director in 2018.  She has over fifteen years of early childhood experience, a B.A. in Developmental Psychology from Boston College, and an M.A. in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology as an Early Childhood Specialist, also from Boston College.  Her focus as an early childhood educator has been to help children learn and grow through a developmental and predominately play-based approach.  She believes that if children feel safe, respected, heard and loved, the learning will follow.  Miss Jenn lives with her husband, Rich, two high-energy kiddos, Shay and Kellan, and fur baby, Taez, in Waltham, MA.
